Modeling, Simulation & Design Tools
Presenter: Lesley Polka (Intel)

The rise of smart, connected devices dependent on the cloud infrastructure and driven by the availability of “big data” has shifted the focus of modeling, simulation and design tool (MS&DT) elements from component-level analysis to a more holistic and system-level approach that includes nuanced types of analysis at a local level. In addition, the emergence of improved computing infrastructure to host MS&DT systems, along with the rise of algorithms that take advantage of these systems (e.g., artificial intelligence and machine learning), provide a rich environment and opportunity for improvements in the area of MS&DT.

This webinar will highlight the current state, technology challenges and critical gaps for MS&DT in the following areas: system and component thermo-mechanical reliability, thermal and thermo-fluid simulations, electrical systems, materials characterization and correlation, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and high-temperature electronics.

Thermal Management
Presenter: Azmat Malik (Accuventures)

This webinar will highlight thermal management trends, technology challenges and gaps for two key application areas: electric vehicles (EVs) and flexible/wearable electronics. For EVs, the presentation will look at the complex requirements of key components such as power modules, batteries and light-emitting diode (LED) lighting. With respect to flexible/wearable electronic systems, effective thermal management considerations such as the critical issues of deformation, shock, vibration and usage scenarios will be discussed. The latest developments in thermal interface materials and what technologies are being investigated for future solutions will also be discussed

This webinar is open to everyone (membership is not required); advance registration is required.
