High-performance computing continues to evolve, driven by increasing applications for artificial intelligence, and advancements in cognitive and quantum information processing that leverage highly parallel architectures. Data centers have a significant impact as the backbone of the rapid growth of cloud computing services, web, and Internet commerce. 5G infrastructure deployment is a critical driver. The High-End Systems Product Emulator Group (PEG) roadmap presentation will summarize the 2019 iNEMI Roadmap chapter that discusses four market segments: (1) high-performance computing and mainframes, (2) data centers, (3) service provider equipment and (4) enterprise communication equipment.
The webinar will present a situational analysis of data bandwidth, power efficiency, thermal management and environmental conditions in which the systems operate, and will identify technology gaps, future needs and challenges. Additional topics include:
- Advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration technologies
- New materials and design features to maximize the reach of electrical interconnect
- Power regulation integration to improve efficiency
- Critical infrastructure issues for technology
- Regulatory considerations and recommendations
This webinar is open to everyone; advance registration is required.
