The International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative (iNEMI) is a not-for-profit, highly efficient R&D consortium of approximately 90 leading electronics manufacturers, suppliers, associations, government agencies and universities.
Forecast and accelerate improvements in the electronics manufacturing industry for a sustainable future.
What We Do
iNEMI roadmaps the future technology requirements of the global electronics industry, identifies and prioritizes technology and infrastructure gaps, and helps eliminate those gaps through timely, high-impact deployment projects. These projects support our members' businesses by accelerating deployment of new technologies, developing industry infrastructure, stimulating standards development, and disseminating efficient business practices. We also sponsor proactive forums on key industry issues and publish position papers to focus industry direction.
iNEMI implements a full global agenda that is manifested through proven collaboration methods to deliver lasting results. Our R&D efforts currently focus on several technology areas:
- Board assembly
- Environmentally sustainable electronics
- Medical electronics
- Organic PCB
Our Global Presence
iNEMI is based in Morrisville, North Carolina (in the Raleigh/Research Triangle Park area) with regional offices in Asia (Shanghai and Tokyo) and Europe (Limerick, Ireland). We are led by an international board of directors with management depth who represent a cross-section of the electronics manufacturing industry.
iNEMI members are some of the top OEMs, ODMs, EMS providers and suppliers from the electronics manufacturing industry, whose combined revenue represents more than one-third of the total electronics market. We also engage government labs, university-based research institutions, and industry associations and consortia in our collaborative efforts. Working together, these companies and organizations provide the critical mass required to affect significant change. See members list
